Intro
Welcome to Bennett World Travel Blog. Here we plan to log our travel adventures with the hope that some of our discoveries will be helpful to some of you.
Coco Cabanas
Highly recommended! These Cabanas are located on Isla de Navidad. Visit their website here.
I think most guests at the cabanas take a taxi from the airport, we just stumbled upon them as we drove along the beach. We were excited to stay in cabanas right on the beach with two hammocks and a beautiful view. After we checked in, we took a two hour walk down the beach. We found a "hidden" beach, a stairway build into the rock cliffs leading to a seculded area with black sand. By the time we returned we were ready for a swim and a good meal. The pool was perfect and I must say I've never had a better cheeseburger.
The cliffs at the end of the beach near the cabanas.
Hidden black sand beach.
The cabana we stayed in.
Stairway leading up to the loft.
Loft with hammock and view of the beach. Perfect!
Shower with great water pressure! Not easy to find in Mexico.
The tile in the cabanas was very impressive, in fact every detail was amazing. If you ever find yourself in this part of Mexico (3 hours south of Puerto Vallarta, one hour north of Manzanillo) book yourself at least one night. You will not regret it!

Hotelito Escondido
Recommened. Located in Manzanillo-Colima, MX. View their website here.
We drove into Manzanillo with no hotel reservations. Our goal was to check out a few places and find our favorite. We were very happy with Hotelito Escondido. There was a Jacuzzi on our balcony, a great view of the ocean/bay, and a wonderful beach side pool. We were also impressed with the lobby and the amazing collection of furniture and artwork. Here are some photos taken during our stay:

Villa del Palmar Flamingos
Not recommended. Located in Nuevo Vallarta, just north of Puerto Vallarta. Visit their website here.
We needed a place to stay near the airport near the end of our trip. We saw on Costco.com that Villa del Palmar Flamingos was a recommended spot and were we to be able to book through Costco, it would have been a good deal. But since we just walked in the door and wanted only two nights we payed through the nose. Then we felt we were "nickel and dimed to death" as Adam put it. The charge for the Internet was outrageous, there were hidden fees added to our room service, and the valet guy said we should let him park our car because it was cheaper than using the parking garage (later we found the garage to be free).
